Madeline Merlo Drops Three New Tracks April 24
Merlo to be featured on the season two premiere of NBC’s hit series Songland, airing April 13 on Citytv in Canada
April 9, 2020 – Award-winning singer-songwriter Madeline Merlo will release three new songs including, “Kiss Kiss”, “If You Never Broke My Heart”, and “It Didn’t” on April 24, 2020. The tracks will be available across all digital platforms, with the lead single “Kiss Kiss” releasing to Canadian country radio. Making a splash north and south of the border, Merlo is set to appear on NBC’s hit series, Songland alongside five-time Grammy Award-winning country-pop trio Lady Antebellum on April 13.
Immersing her heart and soul into the craft of songwriting, the new songs echo Merlo’s personal experiences ofcoping with heartbreak and healing.
“These songs are a reflection of the last two years living in Nashville, growing both personally and artistically”, said Madeline Merlo. “They are pages out of my diary and experiences of love lost, perspective, attitude and resilience. All three songs tell a different story and serve a different purpose in my catalogue. I’m so excited to let people in on the songs I have been writing and the creative process that went along with it.”
Merlo co-wrote each of the new tracks. Grammy nominated producer Jeff Pardo produced “Kiss Kiss” and “It Didn’t”, while “If You Never Broke My Heart” was produced by Grammy and CMA nominated producer, Brad Hill.
Merlo will appear on the season two premiere of NBC’s groundbreaking series, Songland, airing on Citytv in Canada. The series’ innovative format takes an inside look at the creative process behind songwriting, and each episode provides one up-and-coming songwriter the opportunity to have their song recorded by a chart-topping artist. In Madeline’s episode, she is given the unique opportunity to pitch one of her songs to Grammy Award-winning country-pop trio Lady Antebellum.
“Songland was one of the most incredible and inspiring experiences”, said Merlo. “The knowledge I obtained throughout is invaluable, and the opportunity to work with such seasoned and decorated songwriters is something I won’t ever forget. As a young songwriter in this business, I felt so validated and honoured by this experience. Lady Antebellum was so kind and gracious to me, and it was incredibly cool to be able to pitch a song to a band that I admire so much. I made lifelong friends, grew as a writer all while getting to share my vocals and songwriting abilities on network television.”
Other guest recording artists in the upcoming season include Florida Georgia Line, Bebe Rexha, Julia Michaels, Usher and more. Fans can catch Madeline on Songland on April 13 at 7pm ET on Citytv.
