Madeline Merlo To Drop New Single “It Didn’t” on October 28th
Multi-CCMA Award nominee and CCMA Rising Star winner Madeline Merlo is set to drop a new single to country radio on October 28th.
Produced by Jeff Pardo, and co-written with Pardo and Jason Blaine, “It Didn’t” is an up-tempo post-break-up anthem that has already gained close to half a million digital streams globally. It is the final track from a trio of songs Merlo released back in April, which included “Kiss Kiss” (her recent top 15 radio hit) and the emotional ballad “If You Never Broke My Heart.”
“These three songs complete the heartbreak circle story I’m trying to tell,” says Merlo. “They are products of my journey over these last couple years writing songs, losing love and learning about life here in Nashville. I think they are examples of the multitude of emotions you experience going through heartbreak and ending up on the other side: from reckless behaviour, to perspective shifts, to closure.”
“‘It Didn’t,’” Merlo continues, “is one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written. It’s about feeling the light at the end of the tunnel after a difficult time. It touches on my battle with depression and overcoming a tumultuous breakup. It was so exciting to have horns and play with new sounds sonically for this anthem. I wanted to make music that inspired me.”
