CROSS CANADA CAMPFIRE TROUBADOUR FALL TOUR ANNOUNCED

Fans got an early taste of the summer ready collection with the release of "Puerto Backyarda" and "Carry You Home" featuring label-mate Dayna Reid last Friday. For over a decade, Hicks has brought his trademark brand of feel-good party anthems to country lovers across Canada, and with the announcement of his new music, he shares the first leg of dates for the cross-Canada Campfire Troubadour Tour. Inspired by the Canadian summer nights of sitting around a campfire sharing stories and singing songs, the fall tour will see Hicks performing acoustic arrangements and stripped down versions of fan favourites, along with the tracks from his new EP.
The seven track collection revels in a jovial, vacation-ready energy that is perfect to be shared around any campfire or backyard party this summer. Campfire Troubadour Volume 2 turns up the volume of its predecessor; whether it's bringing the island vibes of "Puerto Backyarda," the classic Canadiana feeling of "All That You Leave Behind" and "Two of Us," or encouraging a group sing-a-long such as "I'm Not As Think As You Drunk I Am" and "Carry You Home" - the EP will have fans chanting along throughout the summer.
"I was so pleased when my Open Road team approached me about doing a second Campfire Troubadour EP. We had so much fun doing the first one," Hicks shares. "This time around, my producer Jeff Coplan and I talked a lot about how we would make Volume 2 different from the first, but still keep the same spirit. We decided to keep our “Campfire Troubadour” rules in place - only using instruments that you can/would bring to a campfire, no recording tricks like double tracking, and no autotune allowed! This time though, we made the party bigger by inviting Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers, Elvis Costello) to play accordion, and Jenée Fleenor (Loving Mary, Woodbox Heroes) to play fiddle. We also brought in Tony James to play a plethora of hand drums to give us the groove!"
He continues about the tour, "we’re touring like we’ve never toured before - playing stripped back, up close and personal, telling the stories behind the songs just as if we are all around a campfire and I brought a guitar. We’ll play songs from Campfire Troubadour Volume 1 and 2, as well as the songs you know and love, and we’ll probably even throw in a cover or two for good measure. You never know what’s gonna happen on any given night!"
Tim Hicks continues to lead the way with his sure-footed everyman approach - expanding the song writing and style that has helped define today’s country music. Delivering track after track with unparalleled quality and consistency, Hicks’ ascent as an elite chart-topping act since making his country label debut in 2013 is undeniable. His vast catalogue of highly praised releases including Throw Down, 5:01, 5:01+, Shake These Walls, New Tattoo, Wreck This and Campfire Troubadour has earned the five-time JUNO Award nominee and CCMA Award winner a double Platinum selling single, four Platinum selling singles, nine Gold singles, one Gold album and eighteen Top 10 radio hits (including the #1 singles “No Truck Song” and “What A Song Should Do”), in addition to multiple sold-out headlining dates and back-to-back national tours.
With the second leg of the Campfire Troubadour Tour to be unveiled in the coming months, Hicks is gearing up for summer festival season, including headlining the opening night of Boots & Hearts.
