TIM HICKS RELEASES DELUXE EDITION OF CCMA NOMINATED ALBUM ‘TALK TO TIME’
FEATURING NOSTALGIC NEW TRACK "HOMETOWN HEART"
ALBUM ARRIVES JUST IN TIME FOR HEADLINING CROSS-CANADA CAMPFIRE TROUBADOUR TOUR
October 13, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - Marking multiple milestone moments, 2023 has been nothing short of a reflective and busy year for award winning, multi-platinum entertainer Tim Hicks. Today, Hicks unveils the Deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed album Talk To Time - available everywhere today via Open Road Recordings. Listen HERE.
Recently nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 CCMA Awards, Talk To Time is one of the most personal albums fans have seen from Hicks, resonating with over 20 million global streams, and producing three back to back to back Top 10 radio singles, including the sentimental title track. The Deluxe edition opens with two new track: Hicks’ summer smash “Yee To The Haw,” followed by the heart swelling new track “Hometown Heart,” co-written by Hicks with an all-star cast of Nashville-based Canadian writers including Dave Thomson, Karen Kosowski, and Jeff Coplan. The affectionate track embodies the nostalgic and emotional sentiment behind Talk To Time. The album closes out with a second, bluegrass version of "Yee To The Haw" to round out the new collection.
"It’s always exciting to release some new tunes, but especially fun to add material to a record I’m already VERY proud of," Hicks shares about the new release. He continues about the latest focus track, "Hometown Heart is pure nostalgia for me: tire swings, grass stains, Dairy Queen nights, camping out in the backyard. It’s a flood of memories from those long summers of my teenaged years, when we didn’t have any responsibilities. No matter where you go in this world or where you end up, there’s always a piece of home inside of you, that’s what this one's about."
Following the release, Hicks will be heading across Canada on the Campfire Troubadour Tour. Inspired by cozy Canadian nights sitting around a campfire, sharing stories and singing songs, the 18-date tour features an intimate show, with Hicks reimagining his chart-topping sound to create acoustic arrangements and stripped down versions of fan favourites, along with the tracks from his new EP Campfire Troubadour Vol II and its JUNO-nominated predecessor. As a standout in the Canadian country scene for earnestly working his way from an emerging artist to a top player in the genre, Hicks will be shining a light on emerging female talent across the country with a different opener in each province. The tour kicks off with Teigen Gayse in British Columbia, followed by Hailey Benedict in Alberta, and concluding with label-mate Dayna Reid for the Ontario dates.
